ELSA Policy

Referees for ELSA games are required to be certified by completing the referee training course offered through CJSA. The minimum age for referees is 13 years old. Additional information is available on www.cjsa.org and www.ctreferee.net

Our ELSA referee assignors are Julie Pierce and Christine Malcolm. Please contact them if you are interested in becoming an ELSA referee, 

PAYMENTS
We pay the following for refereeing games:

- U9/U10 Referee $20
- U11/U12/U13/U14 Assistant Referee $20
- U11/U12/U13/U14 Center Referee $35
- HS Center Referee $40
- HS Assistant Referee $25


Referee Game Chit

In order to receive payment, referees must completely fill out the "Referee Game Chit" form and have the EL Coach of the game sign the Chit .  All completed and signed Chits forms must be mail to the ELSA Treasurer (address is on the form) in order to receive payment for games worked.

REIMBURSEMENT 
Once a referee has been certified for the first time, ELSA will reimburse new referees for the cost of their initial uniform and kit.   

Referees that successfully pass the annual recertification course will be reimbursed if the referee worked four games or more during the previous season which he/she was certified.

REFEREE ABUSE
Referee abuse will NOT be tolerated and it violates the ELSA Code of Conduct. Anyone witnessing abuse of referees should report it to a ELSA coach or Board member.
